For almost two years Brian told his Mom and I that God wanted him to change his name.  At first we thought he was kidding, but he kept bringing it up.  One Sunday morning at church, he asked one of our pastors, Sean Yost, to pray about him changing his name.  Sean said there were many times God had changed men's names in the Bible.  Sean had a great idea and we started planning a name change ceremony for a few weeks later.

Brian told everyone that the name God gave him was Joshua Bryan Lawrence.  On February 4, 2007, we had a ceremony at Christ the Redeemer Church, at Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Brian's name was changed to Joshua, which means "Man of Second Chance".  Bishop Sean Yost and I performed an intimate ceremony with a few friends and family.  In addition to the name change, Brian, now called Joshua, was commissioned to administer the gospel.

At the end of the ceremony Brian was presented with a white stone with his new name JOSHUA on it,  (Rev.2:17).  He is now called Joshua and is truly a man of second chance.
